or you could just block everyone and have a happy and sheltered life

but you would be unfair to that person. You can be friends with everyone and have a happy and active life

Great Job! But how does this have to do anything with blocking people

chessdex

Does anyone agree to this blocking guide?

Irrelevant posts. Block him.

Did you read it, I would first have to warn him

chessdex

mostpython, you are getting irrelevant. I will block you if you continue, you have three strikes. I did warn him, you have no reason to block me

chessdex

Ok, but from now on, no irrelevant posts or posts that are testing me to follow my own guide

chessdex

1 strike, python

chessdex

Do all of you agree on this and think it is a fair guide?

Excellent primer on this extremely interesting topic, I willl surely recommend it to anyone who ponders the correct use of the weapon that is known as blocking.

seriously, it is a good guide though. Something similar should pop up whenever a member tries to block a lot of people

Thank you

Please get on topic! Thank you!

Any  opinions/comments on this?

chessdex

I posted this because I have seen other people get unfairly blocked and myself. One time I posted something in a thread, and the OP blocked me because he misunderstood what I was saying and thought it was off-topic

Whenever I have been blocked by someone, it always ends the same; they are removed from chess.com

Right now, I have only one person blocking me, when in reality, multiple of people have tried

Intresting, right?

Hello everyone! I am here to discuss to you about blocking people and how to be fair when doing this. Here are the rules:

1.a. If someone continuely blabbers you on your notes, and you warn him, then you have every right to block him.

     b. If, however, he is trying to figure out something, and you don't tell him and say you know why, you have no right to block him because he will leave when you give him an answer. If he doesn't, block him. For example, if a SA demotes you as admin to a member, and that admin goes to ask the SA why he got banned, so he asks him why on that person's wall. Unfortunately, the SA refuses to answer and blocks him. That is unfair and rude.

2. If someone is posting something that you think is irrelevant, and warn him to stop, but he continues to post off-topic, then you have the right to block him.

b. If, however, you block him without warning him, you are being unfair since that person might be actually trying to be helpful, no matter how dumb it seems.

3. If you are in a dispute, posibly angry, you first work it out without blocking someone. You might be able to come up with an agreement or realize that you or him might have misunderstood something. Then you can become friends, rather than being blocked.

Main idea is to warn before blocking and that most people want to be nice and to become friends.Wouldn't you rather be friends than being blocked? So follow this, the guide to block fairly.

Makes sense

chessdex

Thank you, I hope this will become the main blocking guide an one that anyone who is treated unfairly can refer to
