I think you might get more bites if you do unrated.  If someone is rated around 2000 and lose, either from play or time out, they're going to lose a lot of points.

Yeah but people will be hesitant in playing a 1400 rated player who says he should really be a lot higher as it will impact their rating.

There are many people who cheat on this site.  Someone who is afraid of losing 100+ rating points to a cheater would also be less hesitent to play them in rated games.  I don't mean to imply that the OP is a cheater, but no one knows besides them, and to some people, typically higher rated players, rating points are worth more than gold and would rather not be swindled ouf of them.  Losing to a cheater of the same rating will only cost them a few points compared to someone at 1/2 their rating.

If the OP plays people at their "rating" they should be able to gain back the rating points quickly.  I'm obviously not a candidate for these games, but to me this seems suspicious to want to play higher rated players (calling for 1700+ specifically) to learn stuff and then announce they're rating should be around 1700, and they've often drawn against 2000's, but their rating is currently low due to timing out.  

Which is it?  Is it a quest for rating points or to learn something?  Obviously a quest for points because they specifically don't want unrated games.  The only difference between the rated and unrated games is the rating change that comes with the result.  One can learn just as much from one as from the other.

You have a point but I'm doing this for experience and for the rating points so higher rated players would be more willing to play me. Considering all this,y'all are right. But I still need The rating points. I don't cheat check my games.I will never cheat. It severs your honor to the sport
