An attacking game I would like help with

Hello!

This is an attacking game I played on the Black side of a Ponziani. I have no illusions about this game, however. This attack only succeeded because of poor defense by my opponent. I felt my early maneuvers to develop in the opening were awkward, and I would like help with this part, to find better squares for my pieces. Finally, my opponent missed a move I thought would halt my attack, so I wish to have help with finding a better move that wouldn't allow such strikes.   Thanks.

I think Qxd5 on move 5 is fine, because your opponent has a pawn on c3, preventing Nc3 gaining a tempo on the Queen.  A similar Queen move is often seen in the c3 Sicilian.  Nice game.

Nothing wrongin the attack. Bxg2 had me a bit wondering but it seems to play well, whether the King does take or not. If 13. Kxg2, I like 13... Bxh2 here since now White must decide whether to take on c6 or h2. Say he takes the Knight, 14. bxc6 follows with 14... Qg4+ 15. Kxh2 Qf4+ 16. Kh3 Qg4+ 17. Kh2 Qh4+ (avoiding the draw) and after 18. Kg2 Ng4 19. cxb7+ Kb8, White cannot avoid being mated on h2.

14. Kxh2 Ng4+ 15. Kg3 Qf5 16. Be2 h5 17. bxc6 h4+ 18. Kg2 h3+ 19. Kg3 Rd3+! 20. Bxd3 Qf3# is one line if Black takes the h2 Bishop instead, giving up 2 minor pieces and a Rook for just 2 pawns but obtaining mate nonetheless. There might be some in between moves for White here but the first line of bxc6 is forced, The second is the line that would follow if someone were to try to protect their King from attack.
