Ugly games

I played a few more games on here at 15 minutes with 10 second increment. I don't think I should have been watching tv during the games.

Lessons Learned:

Punish odd openings: I think I did a good job of punishing my opponents inaccuracies, but missed the crushing move 17...e3

Don't go on dumb sacrifices based on intuition...calculate: The very dumb thing about 17...Bxg3+ was I didn't really calculate it that much. It just looked dangerous so I played it

Lessons Learned:

Creating Play: I thought this was actually a very interesting game because black really fought back from a very passive opening. This is why I think 9...Bg6 while not objectively best was a good move because of it's practicality to create an attack

Lessons Learned:

Simplification: White had an opportunity to simplify into a clearly better endgame (17.hxg5), but instead went into a very complicated endgame on the basis that it was technically materially winning (21. Qxb5+). Clearly the passed pawns offer more than enough compensation for the pieces
Outposts: It looked very unnatural, but after 13.Qb1 a6 dxc5, I disregarded it because of capturing away from the center. However d6 is such a great outpost for the bishop, that it more than compensates
