17 Checks to Mate!

There are indeed some flaws that have made your way to win more difficult. A good example of this is 16. Bxd6 - this makes you lose your pawn on b4. You could just have played 16. bxa5 that move (16. bxa5 ...Bxf4 17. exf4 ...Qxf4 18. g3 ...Qh6 19. h4). In the 22nd move, capturing with the B would have definitely been better (I don't know why he gives away a piece, but okay!); your N is in a wonderful position close to the Black K.

You made some nice sacrifices there, though. Not all were necessary, but it was enough to completely expose the Black K, resulting in a win. Could've been in less moves I think, but still nice. :3

You are probably lucky though, that Black blundered a bit with his King. I believe he could've got away from your attacks if he had played different moves. :)

On the other hand, Black wasn't even threatening with a solid mate. g3 would have prevented (that particular) mate from happening all the way!

Well, Peecy, you're absolutely right. A lot of faults indeed and Black's King might have been able to run away to actual safety if he played the right moves.

As for 16. Bxd6, I didn't want to give away my central pawn, and the Knight on a5 seemed lost any ways and can't be saved. On 22. Nxc4, I preferred leaving the Bishop on e2 to prevent Black from playing NG4, which I felt will lead to unnecessary complications in my King side.

Black Threatened actual (but preventable) mate only twice in the game, but his attack at any moment, given the chance, could have wrecked my position, I think.

Thank you so much for your insight.

lots of mistakes I can see but yet 17 checks demands appreciation! Well done!

Indeed dear engr_maruf this game is (as expected given the players' ratings) is full of objective and relative mistakes to it's stomach!

Still though I'm proud of it not because it's a masterpiece, but because of the decision making process involved: I knew I would attack but didn't know when exactly, and HIS move 26.... Bxh3 was the move that made me realize (it's now or never!), launching that chain of checks resulting finally in a mate. And the fact the at any moment he could unleash mayhem (a Queen, a Rook and a Bishop; I think it's only fair to call this "mayhem", or so it seemed to me at the moment) on my poor King, but nevertheless I sacrificed pieces and shifted forces to the Queen side - I didn't actually think I could play such an active game but then again, a chess player's gotta do what a chess player's gotta do!!

Thanks for stopping by, appreciate it...
