Hello PureDefiance,

At 61 black could have played Kd5 instead of f6. White cannot let its bishop be captured and the bishop cannot leave the a7-g1 diagonal. So you must play 62 Bb6 threatening 63 Bc7+ and 64 Bxg3. So the line is 61 ... Kd5 62. Bb6 g2 63. Kb5 Kxe5 64. a4. There are two lines here: either black plays f5-f4-f3 and attempts Kf4 Kg3 in order to push f2 or attempts Kd6 with the idea to enter the a8 corner. The first idea is blocked by Bf2 after black plays Kf4. The second idea is blocked with Ka6 Ka7 and eventually black must give up the blockade on c7 and let the white king occupy b7 and transform. But the position is trickier and more interesting than it looks, because an f2 pawn and a supporting black king could force a draw against a queen if the white bishop is sacrificed for the g pawn. That's why the Bf2 is important.
