My first win against a titled player (FM)

This was probably one of my greatest game played online.
My opponent was FM Jan Van Mechelen (Belgium).
It was my very first game against a titled player and I decided to give it all my attention.
I spent litteraly hours thinking over some moves (I have a three hours daily commute, so it helps).
It was obviously not the case of my opponent who had more than 80 ongoing games on chess.com, and told me that he was playing even more games on another website.
Still, this victory is my biggest achievement on chess.com - on par with IM Silman's "The case of the cover mystery contest" that I won last year ;)

Very nice game! Also very well annotated. I wish more people gave such detailed annotations when posting their games.

I'm happy to see such strategically well played game, with different game plans' creation, execution and modification thoroughly pointed out, and different tactical combinations examined. Recently there are many topics in the forums where people are trying to convince others (and maybe themselves) that chess contains no strategy, and I was starting to think there is something wrong going on with chess Laughing

Congratulations again! I really enjoyed your game!
