The quote in post 12 belongs to the great Alekhine!
anand can beat carlsen
Ten years from now.. Anand will still be playing top level Chess! Carlsen will migrate to his other interests!
I do not see Anand beating Carlsen. His last win over Carlsen at classical time control was years ago when Carlsen was a kid. Since that time, he has been getting beaten to pulp, or trying to salvage a draw almost all the time. Since the match is new and he already suffered a loss, there is a likelihood of Carlsen beating him another few more times at least, until it is mathematically impossible for Anand to equalize.
Anand is almost like Nakamura vs Carlsen now.
Anand is passionate about his Chess. Anand has come from behind against Topolov in2010 and he bounced back against Gelfand in 2012.
I'm sort of liking Anand bringing it. He's showing class and strength, India is right to be proud of him. A chess champion ought to have both. Carlsen is a great player, no doubt about that, I'm anxious to see the outcome.
Anyway, all haters, Anand has won the third game..no question Magnus is the strongest player , may be stronger than kasprov. But anad wont giveup so easily..if he had given up, he wont be challenging carlson again.Anand had shown a lot of charecter to bounce back and qualify through candidates tournament, i salute his perseverance
Bickering of the nationalistic people......the guy that started this topic....this is a really stupid topic. I can see why chess would be less fun if we didn't have our little minature FLAGS on both sides of the chess board, but we shouldn't forget why we like/play chess at all.
Carlsen needs to fire all of his seconds NOW. Bring in Andy clifton and aww rats. They are Carlsen's only chance.
Always consider the source folks, a lot of people talking up Anand are from India! Anand has already done a ton for chess being the 1st Grandmaster (and World Champion) from India.
I am rooting for Carlsen mainly because of his age, because he can do things for chess going forward. If Carlsen were a 44 year old from Norway instead of a 24 year old, I wouldn't really care which guy wins. :-)

I'm rooting for the old guy, even if he's young enough to be my son! lol
I think it is very crucial for Anand to maintain tied scores uptil Game 7 because Carlsen will play with White in Game 6&7. This can be the turning point. And now still, I dont see the scores tied because out of remaining games, Carlsen will have 5 whites, Anand 4.
If Carlsen wins then he will be the following:
2014 World Chess Champion
2014 World Rapid Chess Champion
2014 World Blitz Chess Champion
