Doker, I'm curious was there anything in particular which was going differently in life for you not long ago when you got up to 275? From what it looks like, you were doing a chess school type thing. Maybe a change in meds also? It shows me you have the potential for pattern recognition and improving your play, but you also don't seem to retain what you learned for very long. I think it's possible this is down to meds.

Seems like he's abandoned this thread.

Still, like you I was puzzled by how much better he was playing a few weeks ago. His openings were much improved - he was trying to control the centre. Then suddenly it came crashing down and he went back to his old way of playing. That was a shame - I really hoped he'd made a breakthrough.

He was close to actually doing something then someone ridiculed him for posting on this thread and he quit....

Yes I think Doker tends to take it pretty hard when he loses a few games and gets a bit tilted honestly, and gives up on what he was doing. Also it doesn't help that he feels disillusioned with all the advice he gets because it "doesn't work" as he's playing blitz games so he doesn't have time to do any thinking or blunder-checking before he makes a move. Hopefully he will be back, he has taken breaks before and had a few hospital admissions but he's always right back at it when he gets out.
