I would think that some chess set images may have a copyright. As far as I know a chess game cannot be copyrighted, so to by safe you may wish to recreate the games in a freeware chess GUI and take a picture of that.
I am writing a booklet about chess which I plan to sell at a local chess club. Are the images of positions in chess.com copyright or are they considered public domain? I don't see a copyright symbol. Thanks.
