#CarlsenAnand - Sochi 2014 Prediction Game

Here is a forum post for all who want to bet without losing any money! Rules are simple: post your prediction, play fair and enjoy the show in Sochi.

You can fill in your predictions until 9 pm GMT of the rest day, so the day before the two games (so 21:00 GMT or 22:00 CET or 16:00 EST or 13:00 PST or 0:00 local time in Moscow/Sochi). Predictions are following:

• Winner of the game or draw (5 pts)
• Number of moves for white (3 pts)
• First move (2 pts)

Example: Draw, 40-60, 1.Nf3

You can choose (options):
     5 points: Carlsen / Anand / Draw
     3 points: -20 / 21-40 / 41-60 / 60+
     2 points: One of 20 legal first moves for white. 

There will also be a consolation 1 point for a bettor who gets all 3 predictions correct, but fails to score a point in the next game.

Oh, and don't forget, you can only write the predictions for the following 2 games (Game 1 & Game 2, then Game 3 & Game 4 and so on).

EDIT: The colours are not known yet, so mark who is playing white in the first game. It's Anand for me.

Game 1: Draw, 21-40, 1.e4

Game 2: Draw, 21-40, 1.c4

Game 1 draw 20 to 30 moves.1d4.Game 2 Win for Anand1e4 40 to 50 moves.

G1 draw, 21-40, d4 is anand is white, c4 is carlsen is white

G2 draw, 21-40, same as above

I do the same prediction as you, Miha.

Game 1   Draw   21-40     1. d4

Game 2   Draw   41-60   1. Nf3

Edited in light of Anand gets white first:

G1: Draw, 20-40, 1.e4

G2: Draw, 20-40, 1.Nf3

It's very hard to guess the overall outcome until a few games have been played.  (I personally think Carlsen is the favorite, but Anand has better chances than last time).  But you're not asking that....so

Assuming both players get to play White in the first two games:

• Carlsen plays 1. d4 and the game is drawn after 41-60 moves.
• Anand plays 1. d4 and the game is drawn after 21-40 moves.

But I'm prepared to be surprised 

Anand plays White in 2nd game... that is what I think!

Sean & Johnny, choose who plays the move, doesn't matter which game it is, it can be reversed later if needed. However, the colour will probably be decided at 4 pm Moscow time.

Game2 Anand Plays white ----E4--Draw

Carlsen white | e4 | 41-60 | Draw

Anand white | d4 | 41-60 | Draw

OK, seems like the Opening Ceremony will be at 18:00 CET according to Chessdom.

Ok, it's all clear now, Anand will play white in Game 1 (and 3, 5, 7, 9, 11).
