if you are looking for real strong engines google any of the following names
Most strongest: rybka,firebird,houdini,robolitto,stockfish
Most populer: rybka,fritz,shredder,hiaracs,chessmaster
Most common: crafty(plays at chessmaster level)
I am well aware that neither computer is among the best computer software in the world, and I know of the strongest programs in the world as well. When I call the software world-class players, I mean in comparison to humans, simply because the opponents that ChessMaster and Computer 4 - Impossible are usually human. And ChessMaster, at least, is capable of high GM-level play: it's ELO has been estimated at 2718 which qualifies as world-class for humans.
I just thought that because Computer 4 - Impossible faces top rated players on this site (2300-2500) and can win 50+ matches in a row. There are few (if any) active players on this website who can consistently beat Computer 4 - Impossible without a special sequence of moves which would work again and again. That's why I would like to see it matched up against ChessMaster. By human standards, it would be a world-class match (World Top 60).
