Ever feel you dislike certain players from the way they play?

Sometimes (not often), the moves someone makes in live chess and the timing, feels particularly contentious and more personal. Ever notice that? A game you resent losing more or inwardly gloat more over winning because it was a real tug of war between egos, whereas most games are just games on the board?

Maybe you're right.. People who don't play nice, may not be that nice in real life. (O.o)

lot of people, at least at my level of 1300-1500, just like to keep pressure on you at all costs - push every pawn, every move is a counter attack, even if its not a real attack - when i see people act that way, i just laugh and tell them to bring it on because when the dust settles, they will have a shtty position prob and ill start taking over - but i think they enjoy putting pressure on me in the short run and i do feel pressured, so they get something at least

Can't stand sore losers OTB who analyze MY moves after the game. Sort of like: 'Back when your bishop was here and my pawn and rook were there and there, you coulda had a mate in two or why didn't you take my knight instead of . . . ' It's like they're trying to explain away their loss by dissing my moves or strategy. And it's even worse when they'll talk this trash DURING the game.

The formation of a feeling of dislike for the person one has lost a competition to is more often than not an expectable result of one's inner need to displace the blame for not performing well from the self and its deficiencies, voluntary and involuntary as they may be, onto an external object. This includes (consciously or not) manipulating the own and/or others' concept of what constitutes a "proper" win by coming up with self-imposed rules or hallmarks of victory that were prior to the event either not agreed upon by both parties or not negotiated at all, and whose validity's sole proof is in the rectitude of the hence necessary to form repulsion for the winning opponent who, although unaware of the latter or unwilling to aforetime recognize their relevancy, failed to adhere to them. Thus one gets to feel free from the pressure which would otherwise be exerted upon one by both the availability of a choice of a more constructive yet demanding behavior (such as a willingness to take charge of one's fate by, among others, acknowledging and acting up to the relation between conscious effort and accomplishment in contrast to the lack thereof) as well as by the contradiction between the not-so-pleasurable reality and the own and social estimation of one's worth.

tl;dr: The well-known and arguably wide-spread yet highly debilitating "My opponent sucks and I needn't prove my superiority" mantra.

Yeah sure Knightly News, the pawn pushers who defy all knowledge of opening principles who don't deserve to be higher than 900, players who want to attack you in an opening, players who develop their bishop with a pin every single game and will even trade it off in the opening just to give you double pawns, pointless checks - the list is endless :)

I don't dislike him. I think he needs help. He playing about 50 to 100 games at the same time. He's not that good and he is not too popluar from what I read on his site. He makes a move and then he moves to the next game. I am stuck in a 3 day game with him. I'm new and have no Idea how I got into a 3 day game. I think you have to make one move every 3 days. Because the clock never moves.

I also am in another 3 day game, but this clock is moving. This player only made one and has less then 6 hours to go. I got into this game the same way as above. I tryed to abort the games and got an e-mail that the top game was aborted, but we are still playing. I have a feeling we are going to be playing for a long time. But I am not going to give him the game.

Because it is noted on his site that he is a sore loser.
