For what reason do you play chess? One guy said i grew up next to Michael Jordan.
WHY DO I PLAY CHESS?-Chess is as much a mystery as our mind.It makes me happy-no matter whether I lose or win.
It's a good way to avoid dealing with the rest of the universe, since the chess board and pieces are a self-contained universe - or a Black Hole from which there is no escape for anyone addicted to the game.
I wonder NimzoRoy, what it would be like to be on a space ship playing a game of chess as your cross over the EVENT HORIZION. Multidimensional chess game ANYONE?
P.S. My FAV 2 movie on the subject:
Starring Laurence Fishburne, Sam Neill
Starring Robert Forster, Maximilian Schell
P.S.S. look at the yr there made in ;-) A little semi-symmetrical
I don't want to be a party pooper, but traversing the event horizon would mean you're dead or as good as.
To have fun
I have almost forgotten why. It was originally an escape from a painful childhood but now I've been playing chess for so long it's just something i do.
fun and the mental image of my opponent crawling on the floor crying in the rare event that i get a vicory
why i play chess ?
i just like it from childhood, and right now, i have an ambition
to get an winning tourney and lovely ones. shes' abandoned me, but someday she will come back to me because im the only one for her. she's a chess player too.
Bobby Fischer gave us the reason to play chess, chess is dead when the great bobby fischer died, chess makes the man happy;-))
tray not suffert me old brain
Stanley Kubric was quoted as saying, "Chess helps you develop patience and discipline in choosing between alternatives at a time when an impulsive decision seems very attractive."
This coming from a guy who took 5 years to make a movie (maybe he could've been a bit more impulsive for a change)...
