Has Chess.com ever had a worse idea than Vacations?

Often playing well past when I should have taken a break, I'd like to take this opportunity to propose up to one week of vacation in the middle of a 10 minute blitz game.

I thought that games with banned people were automatically resigned

Na but if you send a message to a member of staff they will hand you the game.

I'd like that too.

Has chess.com already had threads on vacations?

That's what you should be asking yourself.

normally i'd argue but i recently experienced this problem and it's definitely annoying

in this tournament game which is 14 days per move

http://www.chess.com/echess/game?id=55393028

after move ...34 Nc3! ,the game took like 10 months to finish . game went really fast up to that point but after the 34th move i had to wait 14 days for every move

So you joined a 14 day per move game and are complaining it took 14 days per move? I completely understand... I yell at my opponents when they call me for running out of time in a 1-0 bullet game.

@EricFleet

i don't think you completely understand ,i think you missed the part where i said the game continued pretty fast before the losing move of my opponent . from that point on he slowed down intentionally just for the sake of being annoying . always making moves on the 14th day at the last minute

it's ridiculous and you trying to defend this is even more ridiculous but as i said at the beginning of my previous post ,i'd be in your shoes and arguing with me on this if i didn't have such an experience

Dude, only 10 months?  You play incredibly fast games here.  I have had games go three years.

Ok interesting thing to lookup - a stainless steel, antique, all-purpose no-prize to whoever can find out the record for the longest game in terms of time (not moves) at chess.com.

Ubik42

How many years did that game take?

landwehr

definitely not

if I have a game last 52 years, I would want a week vacation somewhere in the middle of it.

There needs to be a limit on how long of a vacation you can take at a time. May I sugget a week long vacation to be the limit at one time?

gaereagdag

It won't ever have a worse idea unless chess.com appoints me as the official chess.com jokemaster who decides taste, decency and what is humorous in all jest, jokes and comedy on this site.

And when I take my typical 2 week vacation every year, this will help me how, exactly?

Ubik42

Well, I still want to see how limiting my vacation time helps me as a player.
