I taught kids for a couple years.
Obviously age is a huge consideration. You didn't specify what age the kids where.
I'm assuming they are quite young:
1. Make it fun.
2. Teach with some sort of prize system. (Certificates, trophies, medals, and gummy worms.)
3. Get a hanging board (Very important).
4. Be an exciting teacher. Sometimes I would take the kids out on the playground and play kickball, but they would have to answer a simple chess question or it would be a strike if they got it wrong and they would get to bat.
Say i was trying to teach someone or a kid how to play chess. What is the best way to approach it? start with piece movements, and then tactics or let them get a feel for it on their own or use only a couple pieces ar first. And where i do incorporate how to set up the board., before or after piece movements. And should i teach piece cohesion and interactions and tactics or make thme read a book if they're old enough? please go in detail because i don't want to mess it up.
