If you take the photo of all three of them and do a google reverse-image search, it might pop up. Not sure if awesomechess did that...
Early picture of Marlene Dietrich, possibly. Fairly certain it is not either Mitzi or Roseanne. Looks like Dietrich on profile, and she was known for playing when filming.
I had considered Marlene Deitrich, but I found her lines more severe thatn the woman in the 2 photos.
Here is Marlene Deitrich playing John Wayne:
I know these photos were taken at Warner Bros. studio in 1945.
In 1945 Gary Cooper starred in a Warner Bros. film, "Saratoga Trunk," with Ingrid Bergman, a know chess player.
Could this be her?

Yes, looks like the same girls of your 1st photos.
She is really beautiful. I think even other girls got rush on her and it is ok for me.
Although the woman are actresses, this thread isn't about beautiful girls. It's about identifying the woman in the photos
Linda Darnell was also an actress who played chess in the mid 40s. Here is her photo from the 1945 Pan-Am tournament. Could she be the woman in the two original photos (Steiner is standing beind her. Darnell played casual chess and took part in the entertainment at this famous tournament?
This is Linda Darnell, on the left, playing Roseanne Murray. Standing behind Darnell in Reuben Fine. Beside Fine is Hector Rosseto and on the right, behind Murray is Isaac Kashdan.
Oh my god, batgirl. Look at those cute girls!
Yes, cute girls make us go crazy. I like these girls too.
Am I the only one who thinks the girl looks like a young Lucille Ball? It's probably not her though, but that's who I thought of right away.
This photo is taken in exactly the same place (look at the background details) and credited as Charles Boyer, Herman Steiner, Lauren Bacall and Humphrey Bogart playing chess on the set of Confidential Agent, 1945.
If it was Steiner's practice to take photos of co-stars playing chess on set then your supposition that it is Ingrid Bergman with Gary Cooper makes sense. Here's a screenshot of Bergman from Notorious, and your original photo.
I need to know the name of the actress in these two photos from 1945. (The man with the mustache is Herman Steiner and the other man in Gary Cooper). My suspicion is that she is either Mitzi Mayfair or Roseanne Murray, both known chess players, but it may be someone else.
Thanks.
