frustrating

The paradox you mention — not enjoying it, but not being able to stop — often happens when we tie part of our self-worth or need for mental challenge to the game. Sometimes, stepping back to reflect on why you’re playing (habit, ego, perfectionism, curiosity, or something else) can help loosen the grip.

At first I won half of the games against players with 500 points. Now I lose almost everything against players with 250 points. Frustrating, I should stop.

When i hoped back to chess i also lost a bunch of elo and got very frustrated, i guess the high we get from winning keeps us coming back. But if you wanna improve you should study a bit of theory i guess, watch some youtube videos, read books and keep playing

And occasionally you lose because you resign for no reason. Why would you do that?
