Is there any chance that a 1300 rated player can beat a 2700 rated player?

There is a very strong player here that has no FIDE-rating. He is capable of beating masters. His name is Jon Haug, and he became Norwegian champion in class 1 in 2005 (the class below the masterclass). He always win when he plays me, but i did play equal with him 36 years ago. And about those 2700-guys, they are not invincible all the time. I was following an Aroniantread in explorer, and he made a mistake in ca move no 9. He did win because his ca 2150- opponent didnt catch it.

If he has a 1428 blitz rating it would be very unlikely that he is a very strong player.

I saw a video of a master level player accidently getting scholarsmated and he laughed about it for a couple of minutes. It is possible.

Not everyone can take a week off from work, travel who knows how far and pay for a hotel room just to participate in chess tournaments to max out their fide rating. Its quite a commitment, and you'll have better games here at chess.com anyway. No wonder there are so many underrated players.

Socialista. Blitz and longchess is very different. And Jon is new on this site this year. It takes time to climb in rating.
