Recently I played a match of two games. My opponent's moves were not so good, and he was in lost position. Sudanly when I expected him to resign, his moves become so acurate and strong that in next 10 moves I could resign. I told him not to use a chess machine, and I said that I reported that game to chess.com. In first next move he made terible mistake (on purpose or not) and resign. He told me that he wasn't use any chess machine, and he resigned another game, too before I pulled a first move. I fill so bad now, what if I was wrong. I asked him to start another game and I will resigne to give him back his rating points. He didn't answered yet. What will I do now I want to make this right, after all maybe he was telling the truth...

Take the points and be happy. He resigned of his own free will and I strongly suspect your initial guess was accurate.

I'm confused. Why do you think your opponent's position was "lost" if he was able to gain the upper hand in 10 moves? I would say that by definition it was most certainly not a lost position. If I had a nickel everytime someone said my position was "lost", I'd have a few bucks :)

In a year and a half playing in this site,I think  four or five of my opponents, have used software assistance, though the vast majority of players here are honest.

You are right to feel bad, king_warrior. Remorse is the first step to not making that mistake again.

What you did was very rude - indeed, what if you were wrong?

What if you were in a lost position, and after spending a good amount of thinking time, you find a plan to save yourself. You're very proud of your accomplishment and suddenly your opponent goes "stop using chess machine" or some such.

If you were suspicious, the correct course of action was to report him and keep playing.

Besides, are you so strong at chess that your understanding of a position is a standard by which you can judge if other people might be using a chess engine? ie if your opponent finds a resource you did not foresee, they are using a chess engine?

edit: I've never suspected any of my opponents of using a chess engine - but I've only played some 40 games on this website so far.
