one world one rating system

I think we have to many rating systems in the world!!!

ELo, Fide,  DWZ (german system), chessmetric system, and I guess a lot of other rating systems.

One in my club has a danish chess FIDE rating of 1461 and a Elo rating 1778.

why can't we have 1 world 1 rating system.

If I am going to play in another country I need a Elo Rating to participate. it makes no sense.

If I played Judo and had a yellow belt and went to another country I don't need another belt to participate. One world one Belt system

Another thing we need is one world one rating system for 25 minutes games as well.

I understand in the past it was difficult to have on world one rating system but with computers today it is very easy.

In that case I wouldn't hold my breath for it. Smile

I'll look out for beauty pageant queens offering this as the wish they would most like to come true.

the world may be to ambitious but can't we at least have a the same rating system in Europe and in the US. No other rating should exist.

if EU and USA decided to use one rating system I think a lot of countries would follow

If the EU decided on one anything, that would be a miracle!

Rating is relative to the pool of opponents you play against. Even if the same formula (e.g. ELO) were used everywhere, your rating would not be absolute. Suppose you played against the people in your own village only: if you lived in a village with retired Grandmasters, your rating would be lower than if you lived in a village without any GMs.

Lets try to have a one world government too!
