Question about starting over chess on chess.com

Player x has played 2000 chess games and his rating is around 1200 because in the beginning he went down to rating 750 very quickly. Now he rarely makes mistakes and can take on 1500/1750 players.

Why would it be bad for him to just create another account and get to 1750 asap?

Why start over?  If he's really that good he should be able to build up his rating in no time.  When you open a new account here, doesn't your rating start at 1200 anyway?

1200 will get something like 15 points for winning 1500-1700 . 20 won games will make him around 1400-1450, another 20 - around 1600-1650. Not that much compared to 2000.

Just do it, man.  I have like 500 accounts.

Yes but for every win you get like +50-200 in the beginning.

It won't make any difference a few months down the road. Don't bother.

Don't you have to play 50 games from the start to get a steady rating anyway? Surely if you are able to take on 1700 players, your rating will advance almost as quickly on that same account over 50 games! At a 1200 rating...

Win to a 1700 player = +20 pts (or so)

lose to a 1700 player = -0 pts

he probably could. it would make life easier for him anyways
