Whats the best way to teach my child how to play?

TheDestructivePawn

Teach your child the basics of chess. Then play a game with him/her to familiarize your child with tactics and strategy. Give your child chess puzzles to strengthen your child's ability to see checkmates. Teach your child the basic openings and defenses in chess and how to respond to e4 and d4 as black. Teach your child the endgames (pawn king vs king, and how to mate with a queen or rook). When your child becomes an amateur at chess, make him/her watch chess videos and/or do the tactics trainer on chess.com. This could make your child a good chess player.
