Professional eating is a sport, although it requires very little physical activity.
Chess, however, is not a sport, at least not on amateur levels. Classifying it as a board game does it little justice, though. Perhaps it is in its own classification, such as "timeless classic?"

Above that chess is primarely an art...... the art of war, in this life you must fight, so you better exercise yourself on winning sometimes ;-)

lol Okay but what the law says and what is reality may be two entirely different things. If Jaffa Cakes were actually cakes then why do all the supermarkets store them in the same place as the biscuits? Why when people go shopping for biscuits do they often pick up Jaffa Cakes? 
I think Chess is a Jaffa Cake and Biscuits is a sport.
