Would it hurt to rematch?

Accidentally deleted my post while trying to correct a spelling error...what I posted was...

One is not owed a rematch in chess ,ever. However,if one plays as white and wins then a rematch should be offered or accepted because white has an opening advantage.Winning as black assumes no such obligation because white squandered their opening advantage, give the rematch if you feel like it.As far as being offended by players declining a rematch,in general that is simply distorted thinking;as others have pointed out in this thread, there are a great many reasons that a rematch is declined and many have nothing, whatsoever, to do with you personally.I can't read minds and neither can you,so chosing to make something personal out of something that may not be isn't productive.

If I don't need a break or have other things to do I will accept. But if I need a break, the game wasn't fun, you didn't wished me a good game too etc... well then no, no rematch.

Rhetorical questions don't get answered, that's why they are called rhetorical.

With thousands of people playing, why rematch the same player if you lose? Oh yeah, so you can load your engine a win in the rematch to prove you're the better player.

Stop losing and I'll guarantee you that you won't worry so much about people not rematching.

It could hurt, what if the person suffers from a medical condition that limits their movement. You brahs are very shortsighted. You never know what people are going through and shouldnt assume that a rematch doesnt hurt the person

I'll usually accept a rematch offer, as long as the following conditions apply:

1.My opponent has been reasonably friendly
2. They haven't pissed me off
3. I have time

Seconded on point number one, it seems that the ones who ask for rematches are always the same ones that ignore my "hello" and "gg".

You know whats really weird, are the people who ask for rematches after they beat you.

I don't understand the mentality of someone who wants a rematch, I never ask for them, I could care less. It just seems like they're trying to prove something and I would rather not play with someone like that, who is holding a grudge and needing to prove something over a chess game. I'd rather play with friendly people.

It's pretty clear why nobody wants to rematch with the likes of you.  Get over it...nobody cares whether your ego is soothed after losing the first game.  If your self-worth is not tied up in winning games of chess, it just won't matter to you.   Move on.

The best satisification is losing the first game badly and then winning the next 3 games. S/he rematch you thinking its going to be easy, but then you eradicate them and then brahs for the 5th game you send a rematch brahs and then they leave right away or decline instanteously. Do you know what i am takling brahs

I will sometimes accept a rematch if the other person has made some attempt to be friendly. Otherwise, the internet being the way it is, I will assume it's their wounded pride clicking the rematch button. This and every other "WAI JOO NO REMATCH?!?" thread confirms my suspicion is correct a lot of the times. I like to steer clear of such personality types.

I am in a hurry, I don't have time for a rematch.

And your self worth is tied to playing Freud in Internet forums what with the ego nonsense you so seem to love.

While I don't agree with armchair psychology, you are associating the action of not rematching to poor sportsmanship when you have no means to prove this to be the case and that isn't much better. It's far more natural to assume that the person has other things to do.

Then perhaps you can prove that your opponents are being poor sports and that they don't have other engagements. I await your oh so educated response.
