Hello, the support team.

The question is:will the opera browser be ever supported?

i know, that its hard to support all browsers, but are there any plans to do opera support?..Almost everything works fine in new Opera alpha 10, just that problem with pieces disappearance! :(

thank you for attention

erik

hrmm... the pieces are gone in opera 10? :( why must opera do this to us...

nihi_l_ist

erik..In Opera 9-too.. Frown ..Tho that 10 alfa works really fine with its new Presto render engine..Its the only browser (as i know) who passes the acid 3 test with 100% reuslt. Why there are problems then! :( (i know that you cant write the same code for all the browsers, but between firefox and opera there are less differences then between FF and IE :) ).. Ok, i just asked if you have plans to include opera into the list of supported browsers.

erik

acid 3 test is for html - this is a javascript issue for sure. one day we will support fully...

Acid3 goes well beyond HTML standards and includes CSS, XML, DOM Level 2, and most certainly includes well coded and optimized JavaScript, et al.

Safari 4 beta just recently became the first browser to score 100/100.  Opera's Presto is on it's heels, Firefox Gecko engine is behind, catching up.  Chrome and IE are both way behind.

Not surprisingly, most mobile devices suck.  It doesn't have to be that way, but it is.

If you manage to solve the Opera issues chess.com will almost certainly run well on mobiles using Opera mini (you could probably increase the numbers of your premium members using such a marketing tool), also known as 'the most popular mobile phone browser in the world'. This way you could also run chess.com on Wii.

You should really give this a thought - the sooner, the better. Opera is too good a browser for you to ignore it.

btw...great :) youve added the Opera browser support (or Opera became more friendly to your standards..) Anyway, thank you for the great resource!
