auto-timeout protection trumps the fact that you can't activate vacation while you have games pending. so while you can't intetionally set yourself on vacation while you have games in progress, we will set you on vacation automatically even if you have games in progress when your time gets too low (around 90 minutes left).
Auto-timeout protection.

But it is important to note that you can lose on time even if you are a premium member (if you turn of vacation flag few times but you will not move). I know I did..

Erik, many thanks for the prompt reply. Very nice to know. Not a feature to abuse of, of course (it would be not fair at all to just leave, using the auto-protection as free days), but very nice to know it is there for "emergencies". It would be a pity having a number of on going nice games, and losing all of them because of timeout (regardless of the rating matter).
Also thanks to you, Pawninthegame - even if I am not sure I understand what you mean!
How does the "Auto-timeout" protection work? According to the help:
Premium Members get auto-timeout protection! If you are about to lose an Online (Turn-based) Chess game because of timeout you will automatically get put "on vacation".
However, the instructions for vacation say that you cannot activate your Vacation flag, unless it is your opponent's turn in all running games.
Aren't the two things contradicting each other?
I am wondering because I travel a lot, and it can happen that I lose access to the web for a few days without any warning, so this feature would be very nice for me!
Thanks in advance for any reply,
Andrea
