For sure my friend. 
I took advantage of the situation however I have learned this traits from the games I have lost in a similar fashion.
I had a winning position and lost it totally and I started playing crazy moves and all of a sudden I mated the poor chap. Worth noting that at the end we both had 1 sec on the clock.

I love accidentally checkmating people when I'm just playing random moves to not run out of time. I've only done it two or three times, but every time it happened it made me feel like a god. For about five seconds.
I am in bad shape yet I managed to mate in sweet fashion. I faked an attack on a pawn, yet going for a mating push.
