ERROR in The Membership Benefits List!

According to the membership benefits list, all diamond members can do unlimited computer analysis. That is not true. There is a limit of only 100 per week. When is this going to be corrected? Thanks.

planeden

goodness, how often do you need more than 100 analyzed in a week?  i am sure it is the principle of the thing, but how did you find it?  did you try to submit all your games at once?

cpctc

I have reached the maximum limit about 5 times so far, and I have been a diamond member for a total of about 6 weeks. I sometimes play about 20 games a day.

planeden

ah, schools out.  i don't think i have topped 100 games since i joined.

cpctc

Yes. I keep maxing out.

planeden

it looks like you aim to go far in chess.  good luck to you.

If you don't already have a decent chess playing program at home (like Fritz) maybe you should consider getting one. You can probably find a real cheap version of Fritz 10 or 11 at amazon or eBay and load it up with Houdini, Firebird and Stockfish and have your games analyzed at home. You should probably be doing this to make sure the PC analysis here is adequate for your needs.

You can also load the free chess engines I mentioned into a free chess program like Winboard, but I don't know if any free chess programs include analyze features and if so, if they have all the bells and whistles available in Fritz (depth of ply search, time spent on each move or game and other options)

cpctc

Okay. But I just wish that I could have unlimited computer analysis here.

Thanks! :)

cpctc

Thanks.

Must be nice to have that much time. Oh to be a middle school student all over again. What I'd give... :)

I think I've had like 4 games analyzed since I've signed up here lol

 I study chess a lot.

Yeah. Being a middle schooler gives me a lot of time, especially that right now it is Summer Break for us. :)

The problem here is that the service says unlimited, not 100.  Unlimited is unlimited.  You cannot offer a service, and not provide that service.  They need to provide what they promise.  That is like saying I am going to pay you $100 for premium membership, then paying you $85 and saying it is the same thing.

cpctc

agreed.

"Chess.com reserves the right at any time and from time to time to modify or discontinue, temporarily or permanently, the Service (or any part thereof) with or without notice. You agree that Chess.com shall not be liable to you or to any third party for any modification, suspension or discontinuance of the Service."

BirdBrain

I call that false advertisement.  Let me sell you a car, artfizz, that falls apart, even though I didn't tell you it was going to.  False advertisement - would you want to buy more cars from me?

Let me ask you - why did you pay for a membership here?  If chess.com takes away the privileges you paid for, then what?  I understand if you didn't pay for something, and the policy changes.  But if you are an existing customer, then you should get what you paid for.

cpctc

That is what I did, and nothing happened, even though they said that they forwarded the problem to the team.

BirdBrain

They normally respond in about 24 hours.

cpctc

They did respond to the ticket. They responded: we hope to correct it soon.

So far, three months has passed since I wrote the ticket, and the "advertisement" hasn't been changed.

Just one thing to note: I had found another problem, in which they corrected in less than a week. Since such a long time has passed, they aren't changing it yet.....
