Can you guys tell me if it's a good idea or not cause I try it and I lose 50% of the time and win 50% of the time
Is the Silican good or bad?
The sicilian defense is often very sharp and requires a lot of preparation and calculation. At the same time, there are many sidelines for white that the black player has to know. I would say that, for the most part, it won't help you improve as much as most other openings. This being said, I have no idea what sicilian variation you are actually playing, so I can't say for sure.
Well, white gets to choose whether or not to go into the closed sicilian. Just saying. Maybe you stick to more simple approaches, like e5 or c6.
The Silican is so bad, that it does not exist in any opening book.
Agree, lol. 1. .... c5 is a blunder for 1. e4. Black resigns after 1.e4 c5 2. Nf3
The Sicilian is a load of theory.Play something else than 2.d6 but really there is an million anti sicilians.
1.e4 is rated below 1.d4 because of sicillian alone.
But the silician doesn't exist.
Neither does the "sicillian" :p
Anyway, the Silician Defense creates sharp games with the potential to be seemingly chaotic in nature. These games which, in the right hands, often favor Black. The Najdorf in particular gives Black incredible fighting chances, but is also complicated and a mistake by either side could easily be a losing one.
Sicilian Najdorf: 1. e4 c5 2. Nf3 d6 3. d4 cxd4 4. Nxd4 Nf6 5. Nc3 a6
silician is a opening which gives lots of chances of conterattack for black and often leads to very strong game if played correctly. however this opening provides white to set up a good number of traps for black. so , black must have full knowledge about traps regarding silician opening. the siclian opening leaves a "hole" at d5 square which white can use it to get a death grip on black's position. however black ,if played correctly, can control this .
I don't know if the sillican defense helps my game or not. I have no idea if it's a good idea.
