Link Facebook chess to chess.com?

Hi  -  Not sure if this was already suggested or is already planned...

It would be nice if the Facebook chess.com app was linked to chess.com and vice versa so that your rating, win-loss-draw record, and listing of games played on either site will be reflected and consolidated for computation on both sites.

Agreed. I asked and they said it was not possible because the two sites are entirely separate. But maybe they could merge the ratings?

I'm no techie but I know other sites are able to link theirs to Facebook?

Yeah, merged ratings, at least, would be cool.

Just wishin n' thinkin... :-D

Hi Naisortep... I recognize you from ICC. :-)

I just joined facebook and found chess.com on there as an app... it weas pretty disappointing to see that it was not acutally a link to my account chess.com!

Hopefully this will be a future feature.

At this time, it's not really possible. The reason is because if we were to pull games from that site, it would show as something like "Baseballfan v. PlayerID1132571" because Facebook doesn't allow applications to pull things like names from their site. It's something we may be able to do in the future, but it's not something that can feasibly happen right now.

I am pleased that the administrators are looking for ways to make it happen. It would be a very nice feature.

Here's a link from facebook to developers of other sites describing exactly how to link accounts.
