Lost for no reason

Hi Guys!

I just played this game that you see at the top. the time controls are 5min +2seconds increment.

My opponent made a mistake and thus got into this clearly losing position. (King vs Rook, Knight, King)

at this precise position i played Ne6 which whould lead to the common Rook King mate. I made the move and then for a couple of seconds nothing happened. Then my move (Ne6) got reverted and a draw due to insufficient material was the result. That can only mean that i lost on time (even though you can clearly see here that that isnt the case) and he wins because he has nothing to mate with.

Someone care to explain how this happens?

EDIT: seems like you can post pictures here so please look at my latest game: spararats (1519)  thehauweniger (1472) if you want to follow what i am saying - the jist of my complaint remains the same

EDIT2: here is a link to the picture im refering too:

You didnt lose. You ran out of time and the result was a draw.

oh thank you for repeating what i said.

i will however line out the core of the problem: if the timer indicates i have time + i move within the time i have then i cannot lose on time.

besides i had the favourable position by a long way.

is there anything else you didnt understand lagomorph?

Yes, the title of your thread. You did not lose !

There are lag issues from time to time.  That's with any server.  If you were playing on a phone(vs wi-fi), it may have created a lag issue, where, it looked like you had time, but you actually didn't.  I know I've had many 2/1 games, where the opponent was CLEARLY outta time(on my side), but he just kept going.
