how do you make a move in chess that puts the other in check then you take queen?

well there are many ways for a queen king pin. However, i looked in some of my games and couldn't find one quickly. So instead I found a king rook pin, its pretty much the same time:3

I think you can do this with the knight, for example:

Yes that is a queen king pin, because you have the king checked and next move you can take the queen. You cant take the knight with the pawn because there is a rook across the board. This would be considered a queen king pin

This is know as a fork. A pin is something else entirely.

To be fair, it is also a pin on the pawn. But hitting the king and queen at the same time is a fork.
