"Upgrading" to Gold Membership

Hey, while looking at the membership page, I accidentally "upgraded" to a gold membership. Now I can't get my originally premium back without paying 43 dollars. I tried paying, since I figured it would give me a year from today so I wouldn't really be losing any money, but chess.com kept saying that my credit card cvc code was incorrect and I'm absolutely positive I put the right numbers in. Thanks in advance for the help!
