Hello, I no longer play standard (15 mins per side when I set the time) chess, but a month or two ago, my old rating went up from 1768 to 2063 for some reason.  See below (everything ok except right side 2063):

Yep, Erik gave everyone a holiday bonus:

Thanks!

Since my peak USCF was almost 1800, I was thinking that my standard chess rating was fine at 1768, but the blitz has usually been off (lower) by 200 pts!  And all my friends on chess.com have significantly lower blitz ratings then their actual abilities.  My current blitz wavers around 1600.

Hopefully they modify the blitz ratings too...just saw my local FM WilliamSchill rated at just 1800 blitz!  Lower than his true level by around 450.  I play only 10 minute blitz, so I do not think I am that much worse at that time control than at longer time controls.

Yep, read some of the comments in that thread link I gave you and that seems to be the consensus.  Blitz needed the boost, not standard.  And why diffferent amounts for each player class?  But apparently some titled player was having trouble breaking 2000 here, loudly complained, and this was the result.  Even Erik admits they could have done it better.  Oh well, in a few months of playing, I guess it will shake itself out.
