Everytime I login, my computer gets hit with attacks, trojans, etc. This has been happening since the last site upgrade.

hmm. I'm on several times a day and haven't had any attacks. Could they be from somewhere else?

I've never been vulnerable nor attacked by trojans or viruses in general while browsing chess.com.  You may just have problems with security to begin with.

there are 50,000 people a day on Chess.com. if there were security issues we would be flooded with complaints and people wouldn't stay or buy memberships. i'm sorry to say but you are likely infected. sorry!

Get a good virus scanner. Yours currently fails.

Sorry, but it's probably your computer thats infected. The only reason chess.com would be infested is that some hacker has injected some code into the website. Anyway, my firewall and AV would probably be beeping right now like crazy if this happened. (Nope...don't hear anything right now...)

I only have this problem when online here. It usually happens right after I click "home", etc. after signing in. Norton pops up a bunch of messages saying this attack blocked, this trojan stopped, etc.

Does it come from chess.com? Should say the I.P address of where the attack came from.

A very simple solution.  Use UNIX.

Easy for you to say. And Skaar, we're not really interested in what the technical details are, and I think you'll agree with me that we want to find if the attacks are coming from chess.com or somewhere else.

Symantec, aka Norton... that's your problem... I prefer most free antiviruses over Norton... try AntiVir or AVG Free, update, then check again... also according to that article, the problem is with Quicktime version 7.1.3 which came out two years ago. If you update to 7.5.5, this shouldn't really be a problem...

Security suites are generally for the 'noobs' (no offense). They have strengths and weaknesses. From what I know, the firewall is not very good1. And the suite might hog a lot of resources. I suggest using Comodo Firewall (free) and Kaspersky AV (not free, but there are cracks. Not allowed to share that though...)

whats wrong with norton? Ive been using it with out a problem for years and my dad has been using it without a problem for even longer... Throw in a free anti spyware into the mix and you got yourself a protected computer.

Plus with 360 you get a back up plus PC tune up. Though I am going to be switching over to 2009 antivirus to save some ram cuz i desperatly need some on this computer.

I just downloaded AntiVir, and when I refresh this page it says something about chessdiagram.v49 being html script virus.

I keep getting the same alert almost everywhere I click on chess.com. Every forum message, personal message, etc. all detects a chessdiagram.v49 script virus.

Strange, I am using AntiVir, but I get no issues about this site. Where did you get this warning? What page? I will check it out. EDIT: I will check those out.

To deadpoetic: There is nothing wrong about Norton, it does its job most of the time, but you are required to have a paying subscription for it to do anything, but despite its many years of progress, it is quite a resource stealer for a computer, it is faster than before, but still requires a lot in comparison to others. If you have the computer power to run it, go ahead, but Kaspersky might be a better alternative. Otherwise, AntiVir, Avast! and AVG have functioning free versions and are quite fast. As for the spyware, there are a lot of freeware anti-spyware (Spyboy S&D, SUPERAntiSpyware, AdAware) that are quite capable of parring up to Norton.

I've used spybot S&D for quite some time now. And you don't exactly need to pay for a crack when it comes to norton. but ya i get what your saying.
