I have only been back into chess for about a month after a 20 year undecided hiatus. Now the flame is burning brighter than ever.
In large part thanks to chess.com
I originally wrote some wonky forum complaints about making the board responsive in size. It already was, I just didn't know that the side info panel was click and drag adjustable, and in fullscreen mode is very big even on my laptop in firefox and chrome.
Also, I have logged in with fb as was my wont and very easy and useful when I joined with one click.
Everything is aesthetically easy on the eyes, and I say that in comparison to the other sites I checked out after this one, having been fortunate enough to find it first in my quest to play online.
Also, I have been sharing posts all along on my fb timeline, and just now (and wish I had sooner) found that if I viewed the archived game, which you can click through move by move (which I have been doing often), and I share from THAT page instead of the link at the end of a game, then the game is posted as a VIDEO style button link that my facebook friends can click through on the post I am sharing. Now THAT is AWESOME.
I was wondering how to trick chess.com with an iframe or something to achieve this (too lazy :) hadn't gotten around to trying beyond checking out the banners for my webpage offered here on site. Anyway, you guys may want to advertise that more prominently, its probably one of the best share features this site offers.
What else?
I love that now that I paid for the lowest membership level I can now play out games that even if dishonorable $%#$@'s who bail on me (and make me wait ten minutes...) for whatever reason, I can play out the end against the computer! Wicked.
On that note, the 3 minute timer doesnt always work when an opponent bails, and you end up waiting out the timer, even on a 15 minute game. Chess.com may wish to look into that.
I do like my minimum level membership but I am unsure if I will continue with it, as some features I would like to do more, on the educational side, remain kind of limited. We'll see. I do like supporting the best game site I have ever come across so....
Ya know why this site is amazing? Because only mods and staff can distingush between; 1) Site Feedback & Suggestions. 2) Help & Support and 3) General Chess Discussion
