trouble issuing team vote challenge for WCoCO

Hello -

I am admin of the Dynamic Dutch Defense group and I am trying to issues a team vote chess challenge for the World Cup of Chess Openings (WCoCO).  However, there is a bug in the drop down menu that displays the starting position which should be A80 (Dutch Defense).  I instead it shows some other starting position.  rigamagician suggested we should file a support ticket if we are having problems.

On the Create a Team Vote Chess Game page, when you choose A80: Dutch Defence from the Starting Position dropdown menu, it displays a diagram for the Queen's Gambit Albin Countergambit.  B23: Sicilian Defense: Grand Prix Attack displays a diagram from the Nimzo-Indian Defence.  C30: King's Gambit displays a diagram for the French Defence Advanced variation.  I can't seem to locate a Modern Defence 1.e4 g6 2.d4 Bg7 even when I click on Search all openings..., and type in B06 in the box that says Enter ECO code or name.  There may be other bugs as well, but these are the ones that have been mentioned by the admins of the groups in this tournament so far.

erik says that they are aware of the bugs.  Hopefully, a solution is in the works.

In the reporting some bugs thread, allthepeace reports that Ruy Lopez shows a diagram for the Graz variation.  C60: Ruy Lopez shows a diagram for the Giuoco Piano.

I didn't even recognize the Albin..is it sound?

I believe it's a forced win for Black:

Maybe you could change the name of your group to the Dynamic Albin Countergambit until chess.com can fix the Starting Positions problems.

B01: Scandinavian Defense displays a diagram of the position after 1.Nf3 d5 2.g3.

There is a similar problem with the team match.  With the team match It seems to be an off by one error.  

But with the vote chess, there doesn't seem to be any logic behind it.  Previously Vote chess was showing the Graz varition.  Now it is showing the Italian Variation.  

C62: Ruy Lopez: Steinitz Defense show a diagram for the King's Gambit.

C30: King's Gambit shows the French Advance variation as RigaMagician states.

C50: Italian Game shows the English Opening

A10: English Opening shows correct first move for the English Opening

But A20 and A30 show the same position. 1. c5

I received a response from chess.com support, and pointed them to this thread.  If anyone notices other problems with the diagrams, perhaps you could leave a note here, so that all the info is in one place.

It is an unusual bug.  The diagrams are wrong, but when the challenge is issued the correct starting position, as per the pull down menu (not the diagram), is sent to the challanged team.  

It is embarassing; I had to cancle a challange because I spent some time going through and looking for the correct starting position in the diagrams, and then after sending the challange, I found a totally different starting position had been issued.  

The admins are having to send, abort and resend different challenges while I talk them through it to try to get games going for the tournament.  I've received one report that the Accelerated Dragon option in the Starting Position dropdown menu does not result in an Accelerated Dragon game, but we're going to try again to see if you are right, allthepeace.

The diagrams now seem to be fixed.  Thanks, chess.com!

That's good news.  I am sure they have a long backlog of small fixes.
