I am visually impaired, I have a huge blindspot in my right eye, it would help to narrow the board so its longer rather than square. I miss so much coming in from the right!

Hah, Nearly 10 years passed since the first message in this topic. And nothing happened. How amazing it is. And, yes, I am visually impaired too.

Hi!

I have put up a new Club for blind and visually impaired Chess players. Please join, and invite persons you know might be interested as well. Sorry if this is off topic.

Lichess.org has, in my opinion, a fantastic feature to use the site blindfolded. Everything is readable, at least with Jaws 18.0. And you can type your moves in as well. I have played there a lot not using the screen at all. Chess.com should try to do a bit to get to same level...

However, I must admit, the sounds are better here... grin.png

Would also love a way to move pieces by keyboard input. I'm a blind user as well and would like to be able to play on chess.com. For now the analysis features work pretty well if I load a game from elsewhere, but can't actually make any moves with the interface here.

Lichess has it. Its really good!

The fact this thread started in 2012 and still hasn't been addressed is a little shameful.

Accessibility has been added to the Chess.com IOS app this last month. There is a video posted by CEO Erik along with blind tenor Andrea Bocelli.

i can see blind people being calculating masters because of how well they can see things in their head
