Weird clock issue in my last game

In the last game I played, something weird happened.

I made a move, but had a mouse slip.  I deposited my queen on the original square, but I heard the "click" that usually signifies a move.  I looked up.  My clock was still running, and all the pieces were in the right spots.  I made my move, heard another click, and my opponent's clock started running.

I watched as his clock ran down.  He had over two minutes left on his clock, but it kept running.  He never moved.  Eventually, it hit zero, and the familiar message popped up, "(My opponent) won on time."

Huh?  His clock ran down to zero.  However, as soon as it hit zero, I looked at the board, and now his clock showed 3:37, and mine showed zero.

No huge deal.  I assume that somehow things just got a bit out of sync.  Just thought I would alert you to the possibility of an issue.

Additional information:

It occurred to me to check if the moves themselves had been recorded correctly.  They were not.

On my board, I had decided to move Qd3.  (It was a bad move.  I blame blitz.)  I started to move it, but my mouse slipped, and my board showed my queen on d1, its original square.  I then moved it to d3, and my opponent's clock started running.

I immediately realized just how bad that move had been.  I was hoping my opponent was not going to capture my knight.  As the clocked kept running, I wasn't sure why my opponent was taking so long.  He had a couple of very good moves.  I was sunk.  No sign of disconnection.

After the game, (and after writing my first post) I checked the record of the game.  In the record of the game, it showed Qd2 as a move, followed by Qxf3 by my opponent.

What I saw on my board was Qd3, with no response from my opponent.

Something similar happened to me because of my lousy internet connection. I didn't complain about it because I was losing the game anyway, but the opponent's time seemed to have hit zero, although later I saw in the archived game that he made a move and then officially I had lost on time.

This has happened to me a few times on my iPad. Now when I think this may have happened, I quickly close the app, re-open, go to "Live" and the game re-loads, mostly with the game in the correct position and I can continue on. It drains precious time, but it's better than a straight time-out loss.
