Why is it mentally challenging to find a link to report cheaters?

Golly Gee guys, its not hard to have a working link on a multi-million dollar websites. Just spent almost 20 minutes trying to report a user for obvious cheating, I'm giving up because the layout of the website is frustrating and seems to be designed by people that really don't care about the end consumer.

1). The link posted is not directly off the FAQ, for some asanine reason

2). After 20 minutes trying to find the link, he doesnt even work

3). Contact them? Good luck, they respond after 3 days usually.

Its too much work to report cheaters, thats why this website sucks and thats why other websites will rise to the top. The report button is LITERALLY on the homepage. Like, right there. It's all in your face, ready for you to click it.

Sorry Chess.com, find another way to be useful in the online chess community

What makes you think this is a multi-million dollar website? They have had multi-millions of members sign up but it is still a small operation.

At any rate, the help and support button is literally on this and every page on the site. It's on the bottom. (Help and support)

The contact button for reporting abusive users and cheaters comes right up when you click that link.

If you can't find that button, when you search for help with cheaters, you will find,"How do I report someone I think is cheating?

  • If you have reason to believe someone is cheating, please report it here and include all relevant info (username, reason for suspicion, etc). We investigate all reports and keep them confidential.
  • Please do not discuss your suspicions in the forums!

Yes, they changed customer support systems this year and they need to update sections of their FAQ.  I am sure they appreciate your sarcasm.

"The contact button for reporting abusive users and cheaters comes right up when you click that link."

This is not true.  The words "report," "abusive" and "cheaters" are nowhere to be found on that page.  I'll try the <report it here> link you supplied instead.

No, never!  Lol

I'm sure those other chess sites must have to wade through a metric ton of false reports, given how often people accuse other people of cheating when they've simply just lost a game.

Jeez, this isn't real.

If the OP really hates this site, I wonder why he's still here.

MuhammadAreez10

Where did the OP say anything about hating this site?

You can also look at the rest of his post.

He's still here, though. I wonder if he tried those other websites and found something else he disliked more about them?

Perhaps.

Well, it's easy. If I dislike something there, I go to other website and vice versa. I can still play on both websites.

Maybe they thought, as a chess player, you'd be up to the challenge!

Cheating is a very serious problem on this site. I stoped playing against players because 9 out of 10 are currently cheating. Almost impossible to report a player. The social option of this site, greatly encourage the cheating since the community cannot comments on other players if the cheaters dont allow it. With a simple community voting system, this kind of behavior could be completly stopped. should have a simple panel appearing before game start "This player have been reported more than 932 time as "most-likely to cheat" do you still want to start the game ?"

I lost my last two games against someone whom I thought was cheating. I didn't report him because I was too busy with other stuff.

Anyway, 30 minutes later, when I wanted to go over the game, I discovered that his account was closed.

That was fast.

It is a serious problem but it's really not very hard to report people. Using the contact form takes about a minute.

What is hard is generating proof. I reported someone earlier this week. I had what I thought was clear proof. Chess.com evidently agreed. That person is now gone.

If you want to discuss the matter further, you are supposed to use the Cheating Forum.
