I prefer depth. Know everything that can be thrown at you and know it inside and out. That means every reasonable and dumb response from move one onwards. And believe me, you'll see it all!

Hi, I just crossed the 1500 blitz rating, which is already a big achievement for me. To be honest so far what I did was... just playing. Therefore I wonder what I'd best do to further improve, besides playing obviously. For example, is it better to focus on a few openings but with a deep knowledge of these or getting a vast opening repertoire with a more superficial knowledge? Thanks for your hints
