Disconnects and "Abandoned" Games

Sort:

I quit playing live chess before the updated version came out because of too many disconnects.  I have recently given it a try again, but I'm still getting disconnected and being hit with abandoned games (even though I'm online, able to navigate, and I see my opponent's clock ticking down). Are disconnects still a big problem?

I have the same problem too. Are you with comcast ?

I rarely get any and see a few when i'm playing but abandoned seems that happens when the other is loosing badly and just splits.... maybe not but they have been down material when I see these... give it another try.

No, Dr. Phu, that's what troubles me. I get no warning at all that I am disconnected; I have been either winning the games or even. My opponent's clock is ticking down, so I have no idea that I've been disconnected. After a few minutes go by, and he hasn't moved, I try refreshing the screen and find out that I've lost the game because I "abandoned" it.  I'm with Cox Cable and don't seem to have any real connection problems. I love the site, but I find the Live Chess still too buggy.

I JUST went back to live chess for the first time in about a year and guess what????

DISCONNECT

By the time I got back in I had 2 mins vs 6 mins and I will NEVER be starting up this stupid live chess again unless it's unrated.
