IOS app - too many bugs.

Hi people. I, together with my children (13 and 10), used to play Chess.com IOS app for about three years. Most of the time we play online games (30 and 10 min).

Today chidren asked me to select another app for them, and I was not surprised. The quality of the app degraded very seriously this year. I can say that some nice features were added, but the minuses overhelm.

Last drop was wheh i was playing on my Iphone 4s 10 minutes game and somebody called me. After 40 seconds of conversation I returned to Chess app and ups, I was defeated.

My children also complain about bugs when plaing with move confirmation when your time is counting but there is no buttons to submit move and many other bugs. And main problem for them is also sudden defeat when they thinking on the move.

So there is two problems - bugs and new rules.

As far as I know Chess.com changed the rules so that long delay caused defeat. This is unfair.

If I play 10 minutes its my right to think as many minutes as I wish.

And one more thing - previously when the battery is off when i was playing I cud plug the charger. wait for couple of minutes when Ipad started to work, login again and my game was still waiting. Now that nice feature has gone. Very sad.

I know there are some bad people who stop moving after they got bad position, but there is other ways to detect and punish them instead of punishing normal players.

I assume that the team of Chess.com try their best to provide excellent service. But I wish them to think before spoiling the gameplay with new unfair rules. And I wish those who are in charge for IOS app development to know that they are effectively destroying CHess.com reputation.

As all the people I'm too lazy to write coplaints or to select new app. But Chess.com team force me at list to write.

Please change your management. They destroying the app we once loved.

As long as you maintain your connection, you can think as long as you wish. However, you can't be serious that you think it is perfectly reasonable for you to expect your opponent to sit on his thumbs while you recharge your phone.

These days, most people who lose their connections can swiftly reestablish them. That is why it is reasonable to give those people several minutes. The ones whose phones or computers have bigger problems cannot expect their opponents to sit around doing nothing.

Go back through the forums. There are many complaints from people who were tired of having to sit around waiting. Chess.com only changed its policies in response to member demand.

Common, its a MOBILE application.

Is it right to be defeated when I've got call?

Is it right to be defeated when connection is broken for a couple of seconds?

IMHO Chess.com selecten the simplest and the worst solution. There are other wais to deal with a problem.

For example:

- count the events when user intentionally stop moving until the end of a game in lost positions. If counter exceeds the limit for a period mark the user as a cheater. Give other users way to decline game with the cheater.

Or

- give user the possibility to report such behaviour. If someone has collect too many reports - mark him as bad guy.

There are many ways too deal with a problem, but it takes some effort and desire.
