I personally like the animations happy

As long as there's a setting to turn them off I think its great.

But it seems they only appear when using Chrome and not Firefox.

The annoying confetti has returned. I do not find the button to switch it off. When I click 'help' in the bottom left corner, nothing happens at all.....

Does anybody of chess.com ever read what is discussed here? I sure would appreciate some help to make my experience less bad.

Yes, that's one reason there's a setting to turn it off.

Since this afternoon, this site does new things when a game starts and when it is over. At the end it throws confetti over the board. I want to get rid of that effect, or at least be able to turn it off. The developers better spend their time on fixing the game reviews which are broken for a long time.

Settings > Board and Pieces and toggle Pre/Post Game Board Animation off and Save

Regarding Game Review, the only issue In aware of is that immediately running one post game may not work if there's lag in the Game writing to the archive.

The main issue with Game Review, excluding that you must pay a large sum of money monthly in order to review multiple games per day, is that the Analysis system cannot properly find the best move, as in computer games, when going back and playing another move, it often will change its mind about what the best play is, and may even state that the move it previously claimed was best is a mistake or a blunder instead.

That's an engine issue and related to the search horizon and impacts most, if not all engines, in some cases.

In some complex positions, engines have issues. I've had a local analysis on PC (standalone analysis) tell me the move I made was good but one ply later was a blunder. Stepping back it told me a different move was best, but one ply later it was a blunder. Step back, it gave a third move as best, and one ply later a blunder. Try again and it says the first move played was best and the again a blunder one ply later.

Until a perfect engine is created, that's something we have to live with

Indeed it is. However, the point of my argument was to bring the issue to attention so that it may be fixed in the nearer future.

I turned off pre/post animations in settings... I don't have the pre-game animation anymore... HOWEVER... when I win a game the annoying confetti is still there... Anyone knows how to turn this off?

The only engine the site develops is Torch (Komodo won't get updated). So, if you're using Stockfish in analysis, that's not something the site would fix.

Within the Play interface, click the Settings icon and you should be able to turn it off there.

I should be able to, or I will be able to?

If you're seeing the Confetti, that's where the option is to disable it. My understanding is it's going to be added to main Settings at some point as well

So I already have "Pre/Post Game Board Animation" off, as per my other thread recently.

Why does this not disable the confetti?

I have just found the "Win Celebration: Confetti" option in the settings accessible from the Play page... and I'll be turning that off now... but that is not obvious at all.

1. Why is _this_ settings page not accessible from the main settings page?

2. Why doesn't "Pre/Post Game Board Animation" just force this to off? A win celebration _is_ a post-game animation.

Where are you seeing a win celebration: confetti? Can someone post a screenshot? I couldn't find it. Confetti only appears to show up on mobile.

It's not released to everyone.

I don't know why it's handled separately with a different setting. Maybe staff thought some members might want one but not the other.

The Win Celebration not being in the main settings is a bug and my understanding is that it's ticketed to be fixed.

Okay I was able to go to the "Board" tab, and turn it off.

I don't want to see the confetti either. I am not at a children's party. I don't see the way of getting rid of it despite reading all the posts here. Could somebody please tell me how to do it clearly? It is not the pre and post game animations switch at the Board and Pieces settings.

Confetti is a different setting. Same location but it's called Win Celebration
