Made up numbers of people in live chess?

The number of people in live chess usually ends in 99, 00 and 01 and now it is the same (12599) as it was about 20 minutes ago. Is it made up or real?

And 12410 now. I said usually ends in 99, 00 or 01, not always. Refutation refuted.

Based on what sample size did you make this observation?

15 or 16 times, 8 of them ended in 99, 00 and 01 and 7 were the same as the one before.

It is completely random ;).

Well I suppose it's possible but giving the actual number shouldn't really be that difficult for the server.

We update the number every few minutes.

Not worried about the number as long as i do not have to wait for a game. Which is never long. I just do not want to have to play the same person 2 out of 4 games which has only happened i  say out of 200 games.
