New 3D Pieces

Sort:
TheArtofWar82

I see the option in live chess to turn on the beta of the new 3D pieces and when I toggle them on it says "these will take effect next time you log into live chess"...yet they don't. It seems no matter what I do it just reverts back to whatever settings I had before.

Are these not working currently or is there a work around for this?

Thanks

edit: As I await an answer, I've just received an email advertising the new 3D board and pieces and yet they don't even work lol. gg Chess.com.

Attox

Same problem here.

This is something of a known issue. It may or may not be especially prevalent if you are a user of Live Simple... :\

One thing that may help while we get this sorted... Try changing your board settings from the main-site Settings page here: http://www.chess.com/home/livechess_settings

...and then actually go into Live. Better?

Unfortunately, no :(

Maybe we'll get these working with next year's update Laughing

edit: I tried this a second time today and now they work! :) Only thing is that the board and pieces are way, way too small. I like the 3D idea but things need to be bigger.

You can't zoom with your mouse wheel - or by resizing the screen sections with the drag-dividers? :\

TheArtofWar82

Actually - Yes, I can. I figured it out and see that I can zoom in but still, guys: The scale needs to be bigger.

Think ChessTitans for Windows.

I don't understand what you are saying... We can't make the board bigger than your browser, but apart from that, what's the problem?

DeepGreene

Or even...

Lucidish_Lux

Look great, but once I zoom out, I can't zoom back in =/.

Using Chrome, Online chess.

Even going into my settings, changing back to classic, saving, and then changing back to real3d again doesn't reset the view.

How about this: Have you ever even seen ChessTitans? Go look and then answer your own question.

smh...

You guys are begging us for money and you can't even comprehend simple posts.

And on that note, the Tracking Comments checkbox is unchecked, and life goes on.

Terribly rude and unhelpful.

I'll be sending a copy of this thread to your superior here.

You're begging us for money in emails (literally like a panhandler out in Times Square) and yet you respond to us like that?

ICC will continue to get my money. ChessTempo will continue to get my money. Chess.com ...chase this dollar bill.

You're being pretty rude as well...I don't blame him for unfollowing the thread. He's not paid to take abuse.

Instead of berating him for his inability to 'comprehend simple posts' you could link him an image of what you're talking about, for example. Please, be respectful of the staff.

Please mind your own business. He's the one who works for the site that's begging for money like a bum on the side of the road. Not me. I don't need to do anything.

It became my business when he unfollowed the thread, missing my bug report/help request, due to your rudeness. And yes, he's working for the site, and has no control over their marketing practices.

No, you don't need to do anything, but does that mean that you shouldn't show him some common courtesy? He -did- after all help you fix your original problem.

Oh, just go shut up. Nobody cares about your rant.

Wow, Art... you're demonstrating no kindness.  As a casual user of this site, I find you're making things worse and alienating yourself.  Perhaps reconsider your approach to others so you don't come off as a bitter person.  Of course, it's not my business other than I don't like to see people be so mean to others withuot real cause.

Well then you must have a really, really hard time living in this world. You and your big gopher chomper mouth.

Lucidish_Lux

Apparently, stevepool, Art has carefully considered your reasonable reply and decided that you are mistaken in your assertion that his approach could alienate himself, or portray himself as bitter. I'm more inclined to agree with your assessment of the situation.

I don't like to see people being mean either. Unfortunately, there's often not much anyone can do other than point it out and hope the person sees the error of their ways.

TheArt, why dont you and your money go to those other sites that are so much better. This site dont deserve your glorious presence Smile
