Black to move? B x f3 - wins Queen -threatens mate, the black Queen prevents the 8th rank mate at c8.
White to move? Looks pretty good for Black, white must expend the rook at c8 to avoid the mate or loss of the Queen.
I must be missing something
White moves his Queen to g4, and Black moves his Queen to g2 and wins!!!
That doesn't win.
Rd1.
Rd1?? h6
I just thought I'd throw something in. But that's still what I'd do.
White moves his Queen to g4, and Black moves his Queen to g2 and wins!!!
That doesn't win.
how doesn't that win? Maybe I am not seeing something. But the obvious is White Queen to g4 leaves g2 open to an obvious mate..there is no escaping that...the only way white doesn't get mated is by stopping the black bishop-queen combo unless I am missing something..the obvious move is Rd1..that prevents b x g3, with white rd8 being mate.
Pawn to g4 does not win Queen..again b x g3..even with Kf1, the combo after is a cat and mouse to mate. Rd1 sets white in motion to a good offensive against black and his terrible position.
