Glad there are others out there. Had to sign some form giving consent to my employers being able to snoop on my twitter and facebook. When I said I had neither, she made me feel like the strange one! As if I was some sort of weirdo or cycle path. Not happy.
Am I the only one?
It seems that not having a facebook or twitter account today is considered abnormal, or even suspicious. Am I alone in thinking this is quite upsetting? Or am I just a silly old biddy? Just curious...
I wouldn't call you an old biddy!
Yeah, I suppose this counts. Do you feel somehow judged in a negative way by others because of this?

Not really.
I do think it is dead wrong for employers to demand access to people's Facebook or Twitter sites.
I suppose if a politician puts up compromising pictures of himself/herself, then that may be different. But largely, 'spying' is a bit too much. But I guess this is the world today, unfortunately.
To be honest with you, I dislike twitter, myspace, and facebook completely. To much drama happens on those websites and it makes things very difficult to enjoy because you have people who like to torment people on those websites. I had an account once on facebook but that was during high school when I was a Sophomore which was about 2 years ago. Graduated now :D. I quit that facebook account because of drama starting. Best to steer clear from it all in my opinion.

About a year ago our supervisor was dating one of his employees. Someone took pictures of them kissing on the job. They created a Facebook page just to post these pictures. Then they called, or had someone else make the call, the VP of operations and told him to look at the Facebook page. She was immediately fired. The supervisor was going to be kept on, but he cut out right after his gf was fired and didn't come back for three days. They fired him when he came back from pouting.
