No it wouldn't have to be regulated you could just make it in option to play in that view to benifit yourself to help with practicing calculation

I was wondering why chess.com does not give the option to play blindfold, or does it? Maybe have a blindfold board that you can toggle the ability to view peices while playing if you get lost.
